Shawn Thomas Pagee
March 18, 1971-May 31, 2026
Menlo Park, California
Surrounded by his loving family, Shawn Thomas Pagee—beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, and coach—passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, California.
Born and raised in Menlo Park, Shawn graduated from Menlo-Atherton High School Class of 1989. His love for baseball took him from the College of San Mateo to the University of Texas at Austin and later San Francisco State University, where he earned his degree in 1998. His hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to the game led him to a career in the Detroit Tigers organization as a catcher in 1994 and later as a minor league instructor for the Fayetteville Generals in 1996.
Shawn spent 24 years with Francisco Partners, where he was admired for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and quick sense of humor. Yet what he valued most were the people and culture around him; he truly considered FP his family.
Baseball remained his lifelong passion. He played 23 seasons in the Bay Area Men’s Senior Baseball League and spent many years coaching M-A Little League and Menlo-Atherton High School, including all four of his sons. He took pride in mentoring young athletes and sharing the fundamentals and life lessons the game had taught him.
Above all, Shawn was devoted to his family. He will be remembered for his larger-than-life presence, quick wit, infectious laughter, generous spirit, and unwavering love for those around him. He had a way of making every room brighter simply by being in it.
Shawn is survived by his wife of 29 years, Miriam; their sons, Teddy, Michael, Shawny, and Joe; his parents, Daniel and Melody; his brother Jimmy; his uncle, Matthew Moss; his aunt, Pat Pulvirenti; his parents-in-law, Jose Puente and Irma Barron; and his brother-in-law, Pepe Puente.
