Christopher Andrews Lockwood, “CAL,”passed away at the age of 70 on September 12, 2024 after a long battle with chronic conditions. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Vera Lockwood, his brother Peter Lockwood, and his grandfather Vice Admiral Charles Lockwood. He is survived by his daughters Jessica Lockwood, Courtney Murphy and Michelle Schofield; his grandchildren Charly, Ted, Claire, Summer, Cameron, and Elise; and his son-in-laws Scott, Mike, and Ricky.

Chris was born October 31, 1953 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He later attended Woodside High School and Canada College before starting his career as a General Contractor for over 40 years. Chris built many of the homes on Stanford Avenue, Cotton, Sherman Avenue, Sand Hill, and Olive Street in Menlo Park, as well as many homes in Woodside and Portola Valley. Apart from his unwavering commitment to his work, Chris was always volunteering his time and expertise, fixing up friends’ homes, building a cat rescue shelter and ballet studio, passing out jackets he kept in his truck to those in need, and sparking joy with his one-of-a-kind sense of humor.

An athlete and competitor at heart, Chris (nicknamed “The Pup”) played rugby for Palo Alto Rugby Club, founded by his father, for 16 years. Later in life, he enjoyed fishing on his boat, continuing to help out his many friends and family at the drop of a hat, and making people smile, laugh, and enjoy living in the moment.

A celebration of life will be held privately by his three daughters.
