JudyAnn Edwards died peacefully at the age of 67 from complications of a second stroke. JudyAnn was born in Oakland CA to Roberta and Jay Christensen and went to San Leandro public schools. She graduated from San Jose State University with a bachelor and master’s in journalism. She worked in many different capacities, in government and industry, and most notably for Apple Computer for 13 years. Always involved with friends and social activities, she left industry to become a full-time mom to her two children and continued serving the local community. She was a member of the Palo Alto Historical Association, Woman’s Club of Palo Alto and PTA at Walter Hays Elementary School to name a few. In local politics she organized town hall meetings with city council and mayoral candidates and was a member of the Palo Alto Citizens Committee for zoning issues.

She had a major stroke at the age of 52. Her spirit of hard work and positive attitude enabled her to overcome severe deficits and become, once again, a force in her family and community. In 2009 she was the top fund raiser for the Peninsula (now Pacific) Stroke Association. Her inner strength and positive attitude were her mantra and she continued to attract new friends and bring them together with her. JudyAnn’s birthday parties were large events and were slowed only by COVID and even then for just a couple years.

JudyAnn is survived by her husband Glenn, sons Mason (Teresa) and Beau, and brother Jay (Anne) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces spread across the country. In September-October of last year JudyAnn and Glenn took a two month road-trip across the country and were able to meet many of her relatives and friends that we had not seen for years. JudyAnn’s shining star will be missed and remembered forever by her loved ones and friends.
