James Wallace
Oct. 15, 1953-Oct. 11, 2025
Palo Alto, California

James Wallace passed away Saturday October 11, 2025. He was three days away from his birthday on October 15. He would’ve been 72. He was born October 15, 1953; he was 71. He moved on to heaven and is now with his late father Laurence Wallace, younger brother Glenn Wallace, and many aunts and uncles. He leaves behind his loving mother Joyce Wallace, his younger sister April Hoppa, brother-in-law Phil Hoppa, and sister-in-law Shiela Wallace. James also had many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a great, great nephew. James was a long time Palo Alto resident. He graduated from Cubberly High School in 1971. James was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ, Palo Alto ward where he had many brothers and sisters whom he loved very much. James loved working outside. He was an avid gardener and a design architect of gardens and landscaping. James was also an ardent classical and flamenco guitarist starting when he was 14 years old. He also taught many young people how to play. James had a favorite charity of which he organized several fundraisers with the Northbay Cancer alliance, children’s cancer program. One of our favorite memories is of our weekly family barbecues where it started out with a friendly game of lawn croquet, and quickly turned into cutthroat competition where we learned to wear boots and glued suction cups to our shoes, so we could hit the ball harder and farther ; sometimes hitting the ball into the neighbor’s yard across the street. James was loved by many friends and family and was fun to be around, He will be missed very much.
