Elisabeth Edson Nordman, a resident of Palo Alto since 1969 known as Betty Lou, passed away on the fourth of December, 2023 at the age of 93. Born on May 19, 1930 in Pasadena, California she graduated from San Marino High School in 1948 and from Stanford University in 1952 with a B.A. in Social Sciences. Eventually she was employed as a report writer for city planning consultants in Menlo Park and later in Los Angeles. Married in 1955 to Robert Guy Nordman, they had three sons. She served on the Pasadena Library Board, in the Parent Teacher Association in Palo Alto, with the (former) Associates of the Stanford University Libraries, in the Democratic Party, was a member of The Garden Club of Palo Alto and of Gamble Garden. After moving into Vi at Palo Alto in 2005 she was active continuously with the Library Committee there.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in law, Eric and Kathy Nordman of Palo Alto and their daughters Ellen and Nancy, by Keith and Leslie Nordman of Palo Alto and their daughters Rachel and Sarah, by Bruce Nordman and Teresa Provenzano of Berkeley and their sons Leo and Antonio, and brother-in-law Dick Wheat of Carmel Valley.
