A native of San Jose, Chesley calmly stopped living while residing for the last 3 ½ months in a Menlo Park care home. The cause of his demise was dementia, which he had for the past 3 years.

While in college at SJSU, he was captain of the water polo & swim teams as a freshman to his senior year (1949-1952), he also was on the Sun Valley Ski Patrol in 50’s. The boys took an interest in Boy Scouts, Chesley became an Assistant Scoutmaster for five years. Traveling was one of his favorite hobbies, after a banking career with Wells Fargo of 38 years. He was prompted to become the collaborator of the Neighbors Abroad kiosk in front of Palo Alto city hall. He was active in tennis, skiing, backpacking, collecting beer cans, green bottles, old helmets, hats, and stamps. He was a special man and left the world a better place because of his deeds, activities, and actions.
